If there was one word to describe the Keep, it would be: Welbeautilaxing
(Welcoming, Beautiful, Relaxing)
Fairchase Keep lies in the lush, rolling hills of the western Catskill Mountains
--an area rich in culture and unspoiled natural beauty.
The Keep is known locally as "a grand old place" and is situated in a gorgeous valley with abundant wildlife. The property is bordered by over 1,000 acres of state forest designated as "forever wild", ensuring seclusion, privacy. and access to unbounded hunting, hiking, and cross-country skiing.
Think of the Keep as a home away from home. Complete with wifi and a laptop-friendly work-space; a full kitchen with pots and pans, and dishes. If you need something else, we probably have it. You have your own washer and dryer in each apartment, so there's no need to drive to a laundromat or share facilities with someone else. If you're a reader and have forgotten to bring a book,
you're welcome to borrow one from our library!
This was our the first ever time using AirBnB and it was such a joy! George and MaryJane were lovely and their dogs were a happy bonus for us! We were perfectly situated to go see April the Giraffe in Harpursville! The location is exceptionally secluded but there is a small basic market about 20 minutes away. And a lovely little place for a bite to eat about 15-20 minutes away in Afton called Main Street Grill and Bakery. An absolute delightful weekend all the way around!!
My wife and I spent our 4th of July weekend with George and his wife Mary Jane. George and MaryJane's property (Fairchase Keep) is in a gorgeous and a very relaxing setting. The accommodations also were fantastic and well priced. We had the pleasure of spending time with George and Maryjane and found them to be the kindest and most hospitable Airbnb hosts we have met in 5+years using the site. We plan to go back very soon. We highly recommend staying with George and Maryjane!
This place is a lovely little getaway from the hustle-bustle of everyday life. George is a great host and has done such a nice job with the place. We stayed here so we could visit April the Giraffe, and it is only about 20 minutes from there. Will definitely try to stay here again if we're ever in the area! Thanks George!!
